What’s Covered?
- Up to 80% of the cost of a heat pump, including installation
- Capped at $3,000 including GST
- Heating is for the main living area of your home
- Must be an EECA-approved heat pump model
Who Can Get It?
You may qualify if:
- You own and live in the home
- Your home was built before 2008
- You live in a low-income area (we can check this for you)
- You hold a Community Services Card or a SuperGold Card with CSC endorsement (not sure? We can check for you)
- Your home has up-to-standard insulation in the ceiling and underfloor already. If not, you might still be eligible for an insulation subsidy to bring it up to spec.
Note: If your home can’t be insulated due to structural issues, you may still be eligible for heating support.

How much of the heat pump cost is covered?
If you’re eligible for the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme, you could get up to 80% off the full cost of an approved heat pump and installation — up to a maximum of $3,000 including GST.
Can I choose any heat pump?
The subsidy only applies to EECA-approved models. Don’t worry — we work with trusted suppliers who meet these standards and can recommend the best option for your space.
What if I already have a heat pump?
Unfortunately, the subsidy is only available if your home doesn’t already have a fixed heating source in the main living area. If you do, you may not qualify for heating support — but we can check and let you know for sure.
Do I need insulation first?
Yes — your home needs to have up-to-standard ceiling and underfloor insulation before you can receive the heat pump grant. If you don’t have it yet, we can help with that too (and check if you’re eligible for 100% insulation subsidies).
Do you install the heat pump too?
Yes! Our in-house team takes care of the full supply and installation. We don’t outsource, so the same trusted crew works with you from start to finish.
